VirtuoZino™

This page presents a demonstration of our VirtuoZino™ application. The application is here simulated using a Java applet. It gives an opportunity to understand the overall operation mode of the application. This Java applet can only work using Internet Explorer 5.x or Netscape Navigator 4.x.

Disclaimer: The simulation is not implemented in the same way the real SIM Toolkit application and the OTA Server application are. The behaviour may be slightly different.

The scenario demonstrated here is the generic scratch card game engi ne (refer to VirtuoZino™ application description).

The user is first asked to enter a PIN code to use the application. The demonstration PIN code is 1234. Once entered, the user must validate the entry using the OK button (located just under the “OK” sign at the bottom of the mobile display).

The main menu of the application invites the user to choose between 3 operations: Play Game, Manage Tokens and Quit.

If the user chooses to play a game, a new menu is displayed presenting the available game list. The first time the application is started, no game list is available and the only possible option is to update the game list. An SMS exchange with the server is simulated and a list of 6 games is downloaded (once again, the user must validate each step of the SMS exchange by pressing the “OK” button).

When the list is dow nloaded, the user can choose between the 6 available games (the games presented here are based on the UK lottery scratch card games that has been taken as implementation examples). When a game is selected, a new SMS exchange with the server is simulated in order to retrieve the set of parameters needed to customise the generic engine to the specified game.

The user can now play the desired game as much as he/she wants (if his/her token balance is high enough) without any further SMS exchanges. Depending on the chosen game (see games description here), the user is displayed a combination of numbers or symbols that allows him/her to win or not a given amount of tokens.

Coming back to the main menu, the user can choose the manage his/her tokens. Three options are available: Load Tokens, Unload Tokens or Token Balance. The last option just aims at displaying the current token balance (0 when the application is launche d). If the user chooses to load or unload some tokens, he/she is asked to enter the transaction amount and to confirm it (depending on your browser version, you may have to use your station keyboard rather than the phone's keys). The real application performs here a new SMS exchange with the server to validate the transaction (according to the operator token management policy). Here every transaction is validated (provided the balance remains between 0 and 5000 tokens).

You now know everything to start enjoying our on-line demonstration... good luck!
