While Java SIM card interoperability seems to be achieved successfully from a hardware viewpoint, it is not yet the same for the couple SIM-handset. The concept behind this testing activity is to validate to which extent at mobile handset is SIM-compliant. In a similar way as for the SIM card testing where Bantry Technologies relied upon the SIMalliance Stepping Stones, we endorse this time the new 3-level quality label for commercial Handsets based on a list of criteria: (1) SIMalliance Silver: required features present, (2) SIMalliance Gold: recommended features present and (3) SIMalliance Platinum: advanced features present. Based upon our own set of tools, we can provide you with the relevant test suite report and detail what is missing – if anything – to get the next label.

As a complementary offer to the Java Card™ SIM applet interoperability, Bantry Technologies can also analyse the behaviour of a given applet onto a list of handsets. The report can provide elements or workability based upon the capability of the mobile phones but can also identify some improvements so that the “look and feel” of the applet on various mobile phones is validated.
